Zack Carr has shown goats at the Ohio State Fair and shattered targets as an All-State student athlete. The senior helped guide Alexander High School to a team title at the 2018 Ohio State High School Clay Target League State Tournament, and he finished the regular season with the best High Overall Average.
Zack shared his thoughts about the League and why more kids should join.
PullUSA: Why did you join the Ohio State High School Clay Target League?
Zack Carr: I never shot trap until Ohio started a High School Clay Target League. It sounded like something I would enjoy, so I joined the team. Now I really enjoy shooting sports and it has given me a hobby that will last a lifetime.
PullUSA: What do you like most about the League and being a part of your team?
Carr: I like that it gives kids who may not be interested in the usual traditional sports at school another choice.
PullUSA: What other activities have you taken part in outside of the League?
Carr: I have been active in 4-H since I was 9. I have shown pigs, goats, sheep and cows. I have shown goats at the Ohio State Fair.
PullUSA: How was the inaugural National Championship in Mason, Michigan?
Carr: It was nice to see all the shooters in person showing up in a place doing what they love. Meeting new people from all around the country.
PullUSA: What’s the most important advice you can give to younger student athletes?
Carr: Focus on how you are shooting and not everyone else.
PullUSA: What would you say to kids who are thinking about joining the League?
Carr: I would tell them they will really enjoy the sport and all the new people they will meet in the process.
